Tidal Wave Of Emotions (Daughter Poems from Mother)

A tidal wave of emotions,
have sent my soul out to sea.
Crashing currents submersing,
what once was you and me.

Drifting afar distantly,
a glimpse of precious time.
While I held you close to me,
singing your favorite rhyme.

Rocking gently back and forth,
arms encircling you whole.
Lips pressed upon sweet innocence,
your cries I did console.

Praying the Lord may keep you;
wash your troubles away.
Hoping a bond forever remains,
the same tomorrow as today.

Splashing scents of adorable purity;
upon your mother’s face.
I draw you closer, your tiny being;
and even tighter I embrace.

A riptide of adornment drowns;
a tidal wave within my soul.
I once was broken and severed,
but now am completely whole.

Consumed with pure admiration,
at the woman you’ve become.
Beautiful imperfections,
your absence chastised me numb.

Although I know you had to,
spread those vast angelic wings.
I still can hear the laughter,
of a child’s heart that proudly sings.

These crashing, violent riptides;
will soon turn a peaceful wave.
Knowing the life I gave you,
is the life in me which you did save.

This current of my heart, is perfectly;
in synch with every beat.
A perfect bond between us;
without your love, I’m incomplete.

Mother (Daughter Poems from Mother)

Mother,
I see you working hard,
To give us a better life,
Working all those hours,
For people who barely
Give you a dime.

I see you trying,
To give us all it is,
That you can give,
Even though it means you,
Are the one who never gets.

I see the tears that drop,
When holidays come around,
When you think all we can see,
Under the Christmas tree,
Is the uncovered ground.

I see your struggle,
Raising us all on your own,
Never having time to yourself,
Never a moment alone,
Always baking something,
Or folding somebody’s clothes,
Always cleaning up messes,
Or wiping a runny nose.

I see your love,
It’s proven by everything you do,
Every time you say you love me,
I know you’re telling the truth,
And even though I don’t always say it,
But Mother I love you too.

I Don’t Want Any Other (Daughter Poems from Mother)

Our life has not been easy.
We’ve managed to drift apart.

But whatever it’s worth,
Know you’re always in my heart.

Not a day goes by
When I don’t wish we’d talk.

To say hello or goodbye
Or maybe go for a walk.

You’re missing important days.
I’m not a girl anymore.

It’s a difficult maze
Every time my heart’s torn.

There are times I need you
To be there for me.

That nurturing statue,
If only you could be.

It’s not you I blame
For the way we are.

But all the hurtful shame
Left an invisible scar.

Sometimes I feel trapped;
I don’t know what to do.

Does God have our life mapped.
Help me sail across the blue!

Why can’t we mend this?
We both love each other.

I’m not sure about sis,
But I miss my mother.

I hope you understand
Why it’s so hard to call.

I have the phone in my hand,
But it seems to always fall.

For now I’ll hope and pray
For you to come around.

That would be the day
When the new us is found.

I still love you
And still want you to be my mother.

Regardless of what we’ve been through,
I don’t want any other.

My Mother’s Hands

She’s so small, is she ready?,
To enter this world with a heart so tiny,
She takes a breath, her cry so low,
Her mom grabs her close, now she starts to glow,
Mom takes her home to a nursery of love,
She believes she’s her little angel from high above,
She continues to hold her oh so tight,
The beats of her heart, she continues to fight,
Because her mother’s strong love gives and brings,
The strength to her little mended wings.

Here we go the first day of school,
Mom’s not ready, but knows she’s a fool,
Because she has waited for this day oh for so long,
The hard work she’s done, she knows she can’t go wrong,
She looks up and says, mom I’m scared please walk me in,
I’m not yet strong,
The tears start to fall, the goodbyes start to sting,
Mom gives her a hug says don’t forget,
I’ll always be here to mend your wings.

She’s grown with hardships wherever she’s gone,
Sometimes feeling she’s such a worthless one,
Wonders why mom continues to take the time to fight,
When her life is now dark, never in the light,
She knows she can’t go on life like this anymore,
Always feeling like there is nothing to live for,
She can’t understand why she’s always pulling at false strings,
Mom reminds her she’s strong, cause from the beginning
she has mended her wings,

Mom then takes her hands and pulls them to her heart and
starts a prayer,
God thank you for her, for I am grateful she is still my daughter,
Please allow her to heal and hear the angels bells ring,
For she can one day realize that mom has always been there to help her spread her mended wings.

As a teenager, she can start to despise her mother and believe that other women are far superior.

She obviously does not understand the difficulties and decisions that her mother must make because she is not a fully mature lady. She won’t be able to truly appreciate her mother until she is a woman herself.
