Poetry for Letting go

Poetry for Letting Go

Let go of what you’re holding on to so tightly, and it’ll stop holding you so much. Life isn’t in your favor a lot of the time. Yet… it is. Life is on your side. It’s why you’re here in the first place.

I Will Always Remember (Poetry for Letting Go)

I will always remember the night when you said goodbye.
The night you decided to throw away everything we had.
The night you opened my eyes to the world of sorrow.
The night you ended what I had worked so hard to save.

I will always remember the lonely nights that were to follow.
The nights where I lay awake, thinking of you.
The nights I cried, blaming myself for what went wrong.
The nights I wished for you to come back, and tell me everything would be okay.

I will always remember the nights spent together.
The nights when you loved me more than anything.
The nights when you hated having to say goodbye.
The nights when just being with you was enough to make me happy.

I will always remember the way you smelled,
and the way you cared for me.
I will always remember your warm embrace,
and your gentle touch.

Letting Go (Poetry for Letting Go)

How do you walk away from someone you love
And take the road of friend;
Can you reroute the course you have taken
And start over once again?

I don’t really want to let you go
But inside me I know I must;
The times we’ve loved . . . the times you’ve left
My heart says stay . . . but it’s my mind I must trust.

We have shared so much together
Laughter . . . fun times . . . tears;
Yet sometimes we can’t turn back time
We must walk away, and allow ourselves to heal.

I know one day you will be happy
And your soulmate you will find;
I know we each have one out there
Even if for now . . . only in our minds.

May life be gentle with you
May God’s best come your way;
And on some quiet tomorrow
You will realize things were better this way.

My Heart (Poetry for Letting Go)

my heart is twisted
squeezed and snapped
without your love
my heart is trapped.

come to me where
you belong
and together we’ll be
like one harmonious song.

let our hearts come
together as one
and leave it at that
and it will all be done.

you’re my girl
my heart my all
and when we were
together we had a ball.

but still my heart
continues to be
twisted squeezed and snapped
and without your love
my heart is still trapped.

Getting You Down (Poetry for Letting Go)

When life is getting you down,
And you feel as if you might drown.
Hold on tight, and start to fight,
And eventually, you won’t want to frown.

It is not always easy,
It can sometimes make us feel queasy.
We can change that, but it’ll take a strong hat,
It’s up to you to make your life dreamy.

So take your life in your hands,
And make a new set of plans.
It can be great, if you stop with the hate,
And make changes every way you can.

Past hurts move beyond them
This piece of advice is a hidden gem:
Once you let go forward you move
And you will find life will start to improve.

Best Advice (Poetry for Letting Go)

Thre are times that the best advice
Is to pick up the pieces and just be nice
Fighting and screaming does no good
It just reflects a negative attitude.

What goes around comes around
It is a true saying I have found.
The best advice is to let it go
And not let your hurt and anger show.

Most times it is hard to do
But hanging on and being blue
Hurts you more than any
And that is worth less than a penny!

Changing The Past (Poetry for Letting Go)

The past is the past for a reason.
That is where it is supposed to stay,
But some cannot let it go.
In their heads it eats away

Until all their focus becomes
The person they used to be,
The mistakes they made in their life.
Oh, if only they could see

That you cannot change what happened,
No matter how hard you try,
No matter how much you think about it,
No matter how much you cry.

What happens in your lifetime
Happens for reasons unknown,
So you have to let the cards unfold.
Let your story be shown.

Don’t get wrapped up in the negative.
Be happy with what you have been given.
Live for today not tomorrow.
Get up, get out, and start living,

Because the past is the past for a reason.
It’s been, and now it is gone,
So stop trying to think of ways to fix it.
It’s done, it’s unchangeable; move on.

Start Fresh (Poetry for Letting Go)

I wanna start fresh…

and forget this place, the wicked world I live in,
but not forget how glorious and essential it was to me.

Forget the memories that make me weak and sad,
but not forget the memories that are an anchor to my strength.

Forget the people who caused me pain,
but not forget those who were with me in heavy rain.

Forget my past, mistakes, and regrets,
but not forget the lessons I learned from them.

Forget the days when I cried silently, not aloud,
but not forget the same days that make me strong.

Forget the old me, find myself and explore,
and emerge and shine as never before.

This is why
I wanna start fresh.

One Day (Poetry for Letting Go)

One day you’re gonna see her,
But she won’t be looking at you.
One day you’ll feel like she did,
And you won’t know what to do.

One day you’re gonna love her,
But she won’t feel the same.
One day you’ll know how it feels
To have your blue skies turn to rain.

One day you’ll dream of only her,
But she’ll be dreaming of someone else.
One day she’ll feel as if she’s in heaven,
And you’ll be feeling as if you’re in hell.

One day you’re gonna cry for her
The way she did for you.
One day you’re going to miss her,
But she’ll be loving someone new.

My Love (Poetry for Letting Go)

You make me laugh and smile
when I need a cry, even if it’s only for a little while.

You make me happy when I am sad,
even when I’m really mad.

You take the weight off my shoulders and the worry from my mind;
you really are one of a kind.

You came into my life and turned it around,
and with that, our love was found.

I’ll always love you through the bad times and the good,
even when you eat my food.

You picked me up when I was down,
when no one else was around.

You helped me grow and find who I am,
and for that, you are a better man.

Now it’s time for us to part ways,
live our lives and welcome in the good days.

I’ll always miss you, and you’ll always have my heart.
With all my love, your sweetheart.

Moving On (Poetry for Letting Go)

I’m moving on and forward now
Into spheres unknown,
I’m trying to find the strength somehow,
To make it on my own.

I’m starting with a chapter new,
A fresh page in my life,
I’ve had to become an adapter, who
Was once a loving wife!

I’m struggling hard to find a way
To come to terms with pain,
An throughout all the crying, pray
That I will smile again.

I’m moving on and forward now,
And hope time will be kind,
Lifting my lonely spirit somehow,
For eventual peace to find.

Moving But Without You

I moved on
I lived on like I said I would
But I look back while I look forward
I am moving but without you

My love for you was written in a book I kept under my pillow
You never bothered to read it because you ended it
I can’t cry because you walked away, far away

I open my eyes and witness earth’s morning
A voice tells me I’ll be ok and I still move on but without you

My heart was stolen by so many but they can’t add up to you
My lips closely touching but it’s still not who I want it to be

I’m moving on without you and I’ll be fine
I will.
