As I Sit in Heaven Poem for You

As I Sit Here Safe in Heaven

To many I am forgotten

Just a sad story from the past

but to those that love and lost me

the memories will always last

As I sit here safe in heaven

and watch you everyday

I try and let you know with signs

I never went away…

I hear you when your speaking

and watch you as you sleep

I even place my arms around you

to calm you as you weep

I see you wish the days away

as you beg to have me home

so I try and send you messages

that you are not alone

Don’t feel guilty that you have a life

that was denied to me

oh, heaven is truly beautiful,

just you wait and see

Please live your life and laugh again

Enjoy yourself, be free!

Then I’ll know with every breath you take

you’re taking one for me…

Do not be mistaken in all that you are going through

I just want you to know that I have never left you

While it is true you can no longer call me on the phone

I will always be with you, so you are never alone

When you hear a child’s laughter, when a golden sunset you see

When you feel the touch of a breeze in the grass…all these things are me

So don’t ever think for one moment that we are apart

For God has left me with you to live forever in your heart

You may see me in the sunshine you may see on any day

May hear me in the sound of children at play

Feel me as unnumbered raindrops cover your skin

So do not think that you can know these things never again

While the rest of the world may never know that I am there

I am and always will be, I am not going anywhere

Do not think this is the ending; this is a brand new start

For God has left me with you to live forever in your heart.

Peace (As I Sit in Heaven Poem)

As I wander through the green, green, grassy glades

With valleys swathed in darkness.

In deep dark tunnels of despair,

all my burdens laid on my shoulders.

I know that I am His sheep and He is my shepherd.

With every footstep I take He guides my way.

When I stumble, He lifts me up

And leads me through valleys far and wide.

Streams flow and meander with life-giving water,

A place where I can sit and stay.

With Him I am at peace.

He knows my every thought,

Even the secrets of my heavy heart.

His blessings fill my every day.

With His spirit I know I am safe.

I foresee the light of heaven.

All around the crafted colors of Creation.

His arms outstretched to comfort me.

His caring, calming voice

Leads me to a place of peace.
