Are you steadfast like Samwise? Adventurous like Legolas? Imaginative like Frodo? which lord of the rings character are you? Take this Lord of the Rings quiz to find out.
My sisters and I would reread The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy at least once a year, trading each book for the next one in line when we finished. Who knows who started the reading chain, and it’s likely that it changed each year.
I have lovely, hazy reading memories of laying on the couch and reading The Fellowship of the Ring while my sister Katherine sat in an armchair and finished The Two Towers and Leasa began The Return of the King on the other side of the couch.
As children, both Mom and Dad read us The Hobbit, so we naturally began reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy as soon as we were old enough, and, as with other books we read together (Little Women, The Secret Garden), we would discuss who resembled each character the most.
As the youngest, I was always referred to as a hobbit. Pippin most of the time, because my mother claimed Samwise for herself and, as the unworthy youngest, I could never be Frodo. Depending on her mood, Leasa could be Galadriel, Arwen, or Éowyn, whereas Katherine preferred Strider or Legolas. Gimli was claimed by Dad.
Now I’m not sure which character I most like. I now see the characters as archetypes, ideal heroes from the past. In each, I see a little of myself: Tom Bombadil’s joy and love of stories, Samwise’s devotion to those he loves, Arwen’s steadfastness, and Gandalf’s mischievousness and wisdom.
So, for me, there is no wrong answer to this Lord of the Rings quiz, but it’s still fun to think about who I’m most like, just like my sisters and I did as kids!
How to Know Which LOTR Character You are without a Quiz
Taking a genuine online test, such as the one on this page, is the most accurate way to find your counterpart.
However, not all Ringers may have the desire or the time to do so. Another option for such fans is to read the character descriptions and decide which one is most similar to them.
1. Frodo Baggins
People who match Frodo in the Lord of the Rings Character Quiz are considerate, caring, and courteous. And they usually follow the rules no matter what.
2. Samwise Gamgee
You are an outgoing, lovely, and friendly person if your Lord of the Rings character is Samwise. You make new friends easily and enjoy spending time with people you like.
3. Aragorn II Elessar
When Ringers are asked, “Which Lord of the Rings character are you?” “I’m Aragorn,” many would say, because he’s one of the most famous men in the stories, thanks to his illustrious personality.
Matching him on the quiz means you’re a natural leader. It also indicates that you have confidence in your abilities and are an excellent self-motivator.
