1. As Time Goes By
We are older now but better by far
who knows how good it can be
our love still grows like a plant in the sun
or a wave rising up from the sea.We laughed before, but we laugh more now.
Life is more fun so it seems.
Days are sunnier, the moon shines brighter;
Our life is the stuff of dreams. We shared in the past, but today we share more.
There’s warmth that keeps growing inside.
We loved when we met; it was powerful then,
Yet now our love’s strong as the tide. You’re the best, dearest thing to come into my life,
Like an angel from out of the sky.
And I know one thing sure: You’ll be dearer still,
As time goes by.By Joanna Fuchs
2.Together
The day we both walked,
down our wedding isle.
I couldn’t help,
but joyously smile.
My tears of happiness,
were so hard to suppress.
My whole life lit up,
the moment you said yes. We’ve been through,
so much together.
We can outlast,
the harshest cold weather.I will always love you,
and show you respect.
It’s our wedding anniversary,
Let’s spend time and connect. My smile is peaceful and calm,
while I look straight ahead.
As long as we have each other,
our hearts shall be fed.Thank you for loving me,
with your heart and soul.
When we are together,
I feel completely whole.By anitapoems
3. Happy Anniversary
When years are passing by like days,
and in my hand your hand is placed,
a knowing smile crosses your face,
a simple touch can still make my heart race. When I can see my soul in your eyes,
and you see your soul in mine, we realize
that a love so deep can harbor no lies,
where our only tears shed were happy tears we’ve cried.I love you as much now as I ever did before.
If possible, I may even love you more,
all starting from a feeling we did not ignore,
a feeling of connection we chose to explore.I don’t know what it is that you saw in me,
what I saw in you was the utmost happiness
that can ever be,
even more so on the day when you and I
became “We.”
I can still smile and say with love and truth
Honey, I love you…Happy Anniversary.
4. Every Year
Every year that I’m with you
Has been better than before;
It’s hard for me to even think
How I could love you more.Every year you’ve graced my life
Has been full of happiness;
I love your caring face, your voice,
Your tender, sweet caress.Every year when this day comes,
I’m filled with love and pleasure;
Happy Anniversary, Love,
My joy, my delight, my treasure.By Joanna Fuchs
5. Everything Dear to Me
When I look up and see you, my love,
My whole world is filled with pleasure.
Through all the years we’ve shared, my love,
You’ve been my greatest treasure.The sun shines brighter when you’re near;
The air seems fresher too.
Everything that’s dear to me,
Seems perfect, because of you.The years go by, it’s anniversary time,
My love for you keeps growing.
The pleasure it brings to be by your side,
Holding hands, makes me feel like I’m glowing. So my love, on this special day,
Please believe what goes on in my heart.
Know that it’s true; I really love you!
And I’ve loved you this way from the start.By Karl Fuchs
6. Happy 1st Anniversary, My Sweet Love
Happy Anniversary, my sweet love!
For you, I thank the Lord above.
You’ve given me hope, inspiration, and truth.
Because of you, I feel never-ending youth.
When heavy storms have come our way,
Your love has always made me stay.
Each morning I wake and see your face,
I know in you I’ve found my place.
Our bond is extraordinary, beautiful, and real.
It’s remarkable how wonderful you make me feel.
We belong together, you and I.
That, the world cannot deny.
Never in my life will I find another man
Who could ever fulfill me the way you can.
The life we’ve shared this past year
Has proved forever it shall persevere.
I will love you forever in every way.
That will remain constant until my dying day.
7. How Do I Love Thee?
(Sonnet 43)
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
8. Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day?
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
9. So Many Pleasures
When I was young, I couldn’t think
What it would be like to be older.
How could I know it would bring such joy
Just to cuddle my head on your shoulder. So many things bring happiness now,
Like a rub on the back or a smile,
And my feelings for you are stronger today
Than they were when you walked down the aisle. When I was young, my fondest wish
Was a marriage that could be this good.
Where we’d work through pain to laugh again
As loving partners should. As the days drift by we’re settling in,
To a life that’s rich and rewarding.
Just sharing with you is a dream come true;
You’re a pleasure well worth hoarding!I’m happy with you; to me you just shine,
And I’m blessed and thankful that you are mine.By Joanna Fuchs
10. The Anniversary
ALL kings, and all their favourites,
All glory of honours, beauties, wits,
The sun it self, which makes time, as they pass,
Is elder by a year now than it was
When thou and I first one another saw.
All other things to their destruction draw,
Only our love hath no decay ;
This no to-morrow hath, nor yesterday ;
Running it never runs from us away,
But truly keeps his first, last, everlasting day.Two graves must hide thine and my corse ;
If one might, death were no divorce.
Alas ! as well as other princes, we
—Who prince enough in one another be—
Must leave at last in death these eyes and ears,
Oft fed with true oaths, and with sweet salt tears ;
But souls where nothing dwells but love
—All other thoughts being inmates—then shall prove
This or a love increasèd there above,
When bodies to their graves, souls from their graves remove.And then we shall be throughly blest ;
But now no more than all the rest.
Here upon earth we’re kings, and none but we
Can be such kings, nor of such subjects be.
Who is so safe as we? where none can do
Treason to us, except one of us two.
True and false fears let us refrain,
Let us love nobly, and live, and add again
Years and years unto years, till we attain
To write threescore ; this is the second of our reign.By John Donne
11. Anniversary (For Jim)
Before any sweet voice ever sounded
Or soft caresses ever sought to reach
When the Sun was only a cruel flame
Wandering the sky’s deserted beachWhen Love was but a killing thirst
Unquenched even by boldest dream
And Hope, immutable aching hunger
Threading through life’s every seamWhen time was but a taunting curse
And calendars marked only pain
When heartbeats served no purpose
But pulse longing through each veinWhen night hid every wishing star
And no breeze dared stir any tree
When no birds sang, or laughter rang
What rare miracle led you to me?It matters not, for what had been
Dissolved forever on that day
My heart records life first began
When you brought love my wayBy Mary Havran
12. God Smiled on Me When He Gave Me You
God smiled on me
When He gave me you.
I can’t believe that all my dreams
Are finally coming true
Of all the choices I made in the past
I have few regrets
‘Cause every step I made back then
Led to the day we met. We’re living our own fairy tale
I knew if from the start
God reached down with His love
Tied a rope around our hearts
We start and end each and every day
Our love to renew
And now we celebrate that day
When we said “I doBy Yyuvone Heidelberger

13. Anniversary Vows
To see you each day
through eyes of love
To bite my tongue
when enough is enoughTo touch your skin
as I walk by
A pinch to the rump
may even applyTo smell the roses
and count the stars
Though our love
dwarves both by farTo make each night
a woman’s dream
To hold you close
in a lover’s sceneTo kiss your lips
for each come and each go
To make you smile
through each to and each fro’To be the rock
when things go awry
To be the answer
when there’s so many why’sTo be a pillow
when we say goodnight
To live, laugh and love
with all my mightThese things I vow
each year from my heart
For without you, my love
tomorrow could never startBy Jeff Ewing

14. A Year Today…
A year today my darling
Hasn’t it flown by?
You’re on my mind constantly
My special, loving guy.I love you so very much
You know I really do.
And even though you never say
I know you love me too.Wherever I may wander
Wherever I may go,
I know that you’ll be by my side
My heart tells me so.Today I bring you flowers
Just like I always do,
As this is now the only gift
That I can give to you.I’ll kneel and sit awhile with you
My smile will hide my pain,
As I am sure of one true fact
We’ll be together again. They say time is a healer
I say time’s in the way,
For when we meet again my love
It will be the greatest day!By Margaret Andrea Talbot
(Merseyside, England)This Date
A milestone annual
With thoughts and emotion
The smiles never ceasing like
The acts of devotionFrom age to age
There is a reminder,
Such happening is an instant finder
Lover’s tale, Romeo and Juliet
For this favour I find is not one to regret
But rather embrace, I can clearly see
The value bestowed on your person
In an outwardly,Work of a God, guided by a celestial founder
That deemed it fit to make your heart a sounder
Emitting sweet words that lay on my mind
And when I feel I miss them I always rewindSomething like a fairytale so I must be Cinderella
Except you’re the rain and I’m the umbrella
Together were antagonistic but we cannot fight
The significance of ourselves in dark and in light,
Modesty aside its simplistic delivery
Diagnosed and concluded a certified epiphanyCharmed and cherished they both define,
my consistent feelings in and out of time,
Day or year I’ll appreciate in good fate

15. Yet, On This Day
I’d never thought to awake in wonder of you,
Nor did I anticipate marriage as a habit,
yet, on this day, I stand in aweYour chair is waiting, as I for you,
the shower head drips, mourning your passing,
yet, on this day, I stand in aweTone of arguments, lament misunderstandings,
fiery gazes leave ozone as an afterthought,
yet, on this day, I stand in aweYou are expected, as a sunrise,
familiar as the face I shave,
yet on this day, I stand in aweYet, on this day, I stand in awe,
Thankful that in a world of billions,
You and I have this unique commitmentBy Jeff Longeddy

Even though it is your first, second, or 50th anniversary, do not delay showing love. To put a loving smile on your partner’s face, a sense of sentiment in anniversary poems is never redundant.
